All the potential
expressed
in so many ways
before the flower
actually blooms…

the beauty
of a bud preparing
to bloom

revealed so long
this grain of wood
on our floor-
the distance yet
we have to go

snails
on the move
over pavers

the needle
holding true
season after season
exactly as it was between us
long ago…

so many things
left to the sweep
of time

the last pressure
setting frozen
for all time…

beauty, day lily, daylilies, details, fleeting, flowers, now, orange, photography, poetry, summer, tanka

it is love we all want
and all these ways
we go about looking for it-
how strange in my secluded spot
a stranger finds me

day lilies
some have crossed
the road

wondering if this is what
my parents felt,
in their own time
seeing a better past slip
ever further behind

no way

could be I’m tired
or lost, but to close my eyes
and nod off
while the world goes on
gives me a certain peace

the way
a tree will absorb
a thing
