the wind in the trees
reminds me
that what once was
so important
just passes by

so many storms…
bent but
not broken

as I sit here
taking in the river view
I see my feelings for this life
quite like the trees
leaning slightly downstream

the wind and snow
across the field has bent
but not buried all the grasses
